TGA & TA Q500
The TGA measures weight changes in a material as a function of temperature (or time) under controlled atmosphere. The TA Q500 is a versatile thermo-gravimetric analyser that can operate up to 1000°C and can be used to determine a variety of parameters such as moisture, volatiles, ash fixed carbon, CO2 uptake, CO2 desorption etc. The instrument is equipped with a multiple sample try, which allows running up to 19 tests.
MS & MKS Cirrus
The atmospheric pressure gas monitoring Cirrus MS offers the versatility of state-of-the-art quadrupole mass spectrometry in a convenient bench-top configuration. The Cirrus system is ideal for the on-line monitoring and analysis of gases and gas mixtures including trace contaminants in process gases; solvent vapours; hydrocarbons; atmospheric and inorganic gas species (including corrosives); freons and noble gases.
Two Carbolite CWF high-temperature furnaces (up to 1100°C) with volumes of 5 and 13 litres and max power of 2400W and 3100W are located in NG12. These muffle furnaces are used for synthesising catalysts, CO2 adsorbents and to determine ash contents.
