Biography

Evangelos Kalamaras received his BSc degree in Physics from the University of Patras, Greece in 2011. After that, he obtained his MSc in ''Energy and Environment'' investigating the effect of TiO2 loading on several electrocatalysts in oxidation of alcohols for utilization in direct alcohol fuel cells. Fascinated by TiO2 properties, he continued his research in the field of photoelectrochemistry working with light harvesting materials for the production of electricity and hydrogen.

In 2015, his interest in photoelectrechemical systems for CO2 reduction brought him to the Centre for Innovation in Carbon Capture and Storage (CICCS) at Heriot-Watt University. His current research focus on nanostructured materials and photoelectrochemical reactors for CO2 conversion into fuels.
